Piracy, Idiocy and Advocay

March 13, 2004

Couple of days ago there was a message in one of the Sri Lankan Linux user group (lklug) mailing lists from a guy who had borrowed a couple of CDs from a friend to install
unreal tournament. I gently pointed out that boasting about this in a mailing list may not be the wisest thing to do. Like most Sri Lankans he cannot take criticism and came back with a snappish email.

What's really amusing is that this guy who is obviously new to linux seems to think that I am a windows user. I could die rolling on the floor with laughter. Maby of the so called linux advocates in the countries are happily sending messages to linux advocacy groups using pirate copies of OutHouse.
