Voice Recognition and DictationMarch 29, 2004The IBM websphere voice tool kit looks pretty good for voice recognition. Though their documentation speaks mainly about voicexml the download also includes a java speech implementation. Unfortunately the software insists on jre 1.3x and refuses to start up if you have a more recent version. The software also has support for dictation grammar. Once again the documentation is extremely lacking. It took me quite while to figure out that I need to download some additional via voice components. Guess what the ibm site shows a 404 error on the download page!! Further investigations revealed that some of the free downloads are no longer available.
