I was under the impression that Festival is abandonware - apparenlty not. They have released a new version labeled as 1.95 (2.0 beta). According to my reconing this is the first major release in around three years.

I made an immidiate download and started to read the documentation prior to installing it. Unfortunately as often happens with open source projects the documentation has not kept pace with the code. You might have expected festival to be different because it's created by a team from the Edinburg university.

Professors (usually) seem to care more about the documentation than the code itself. Apperently this is an exception. Good to see professors with common sense for a change.
