The Site With the Lamp

 07:53:50 up 6 days, 15:32,  1 user,  load average: 0.48, 0.18, 0.06

That result from an inovation for uptime ladies and gentles shows that this computer was runing continously for 6 days and 15 hours without being restarted. Say what? well this is not a server. This is a desktop computer. Don't forget that I install new software on my linux machine on an almost daily basis.

Would you be able to keep a computer running for even day without a reboot if it was based on windows? it seems whenever you install even the most trivial software, windows screams out to be restarted.

So why was the machine shut down? I had to go to Galle to look into the well being of one of my aunts and here family effected by the boxing day tsunami.
