Java Mustang

September 11, 2005

Just downloaded a snapshot of java 6.0 naturally the first thing is to see if Rad Upload works well with it. It does.

The only noticable difference is in the security certificate that pops up when the applet starts. The new version conveys a better sense of security and it's unlikely to scare off paranoid users.

Tried out the other products such as the SFTP applet and they all seem to work well. Now it's time to get down to business and try out the features of the new version.

At least with this version there isn't any confusion like the last time about what is the correct version number; That is until you click on the Version 6 or 1.6.0? page in the documenation.

In the downloaded version of the documenation you are taken to a version 1.5 or version 5 page! at least the site has the correct link.
