A friend of mine returned from Sweden a few days ago and gave me a Logitech Quickcam Express as a present. This is the second time that I have recieved a webcam as a present. Both cameras unfortunately are unusable on linux.
When you plug the device nothing happens, except for a message in the log file.

Not much you can do with that. I then tried to use it with wine. No luck . The installer refuses to run. So it looks like I will have to download and install third party drivers. That is a painfull affair, the driver needs to be recompiled each time the kernel is updated.
