Huawei ETS 1001December 15, 2007Trying to see if the Huawei ETS 1001 phone which came with my Dialog CDMA connection is any good. Well even without opening the box I can tell you that it's no good, it's a Huawei, but none of the CDMA services providers here in Sri Lanka seem to offer anything else. ETS 1001 is the best out of a bad lot, pretty expensive too by comparision. This is what you get when you connect it to a linux box. Notice the failure with the ti_usb_3410_5052?. Where have I seen that before? on the Huawei 2088 which I setup for my sister (yes she uses linux (or rather she used to, now she has a mac)) a while back. The only trouble is I can't seem to recall what I did to solve this problem. Presence of this error is the probable cause of the errors in the vgetty log. 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 vgetty: experimental test release 0.9.32 / with duplex patch 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 mgetty: interim release 1.1.33-Apr10 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 reading generic configuration from config file /etc/mgetty+sendfax/voice.conf 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 reading program vgetty configuration from config file /etc/mgetty+sendfax/voice.conf 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 reading port ttyUSB0 configuration from config file /etc/mgetty+sendfax/voice.conf 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 check for lockfiles 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 locking the line 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 WARNING: DSR is off - modem turned off or bad cable? 12/13 19:12:42 SB0 lowering DTR to reset Modem 12/13 19:12:43 SB0 send: \dATQ0V1H0[0d] 12/13 19:12:44 SB0 waiting for ``OK'' 12/13 19:13:04 SB0 timeout in chat script, waiting for `OK' 12/13 19:13:04 SB0 init chat timed out, trying force-init-chat 12/13 19:13:04 SB0 send: \d[10][03]\d\d\d+++\d\d\d[0d]\dATQ0V1H0[0d] 12/13 19:13:08 SB0 waiting for ``OK'' 12/13 19:13:28 SB0 timeout in chat script, waiting for `OK' 12/13 19:13:28 SB0 init chat failed, exiting...: Interrupted system call 12/13 19:13:28 ##### failed in mg_init_data, dev=ttyUSB0, pid=15110 Too bad I didn't blog about that error when I first so it, Had I done so I would now have the soltion at my fingertips, now I have to go figure!
