No doubt blogger.com has the jewel in the crown when it comes to domain names no doubt they have

better financial backing than most other blogging software but is it the best bloggin software?

So far it doesn't look like it. I have learned more about blogger.com by reading the documentaion

that came with movable type than on the

blogger site.

The major drawback of blogger.com is that you need to share your FTP or SFTP username and password

with them. And their privacy policy is not detailed enough. In fact they don't have a detailed

privacy policy at all, they just have a section in their terms and conditions about privacy.

Movabletype looks impressive but the number of dependencies (perl modules mostly) looks terrifying.
